Researchers of the National Clinical Research Center for Kidney Disease have presided over scientific research projects at the national, provincial and ministerial level. Experts of the center have undertaken national key projects, such as, Program 973, National Science and Technology Support Plan, Science Fund for Creative Research Groups of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and other General Program and Key Program of the NSFC. Young researchers of the center have participated in some major programs mentioned above as backbones and also presided over some general programs and youth programs of the NSFC. The academic atmosphere within the center is harmonious and vibrant.
Professor Hou Fanfan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the center, has presided over "Acceleration and Mechanism of Metabolic Inflammation on the Progress of Chronic Kidney Disease and Renal Fibrosis" under Program 973, "Clinical Strategy Research on Delaying the Progress of Chronic Kidney Disease" under National Science and Technology Support Plan, and "Mechanism of Chronic Kidney Disease of Salt Sensitivity: Function of Axis Activation of Renin - Angiotensin in Central and Peripheral Tissues" under Major International Cooperation and Exchange Programs. Among them, Program 973 and National Science and Technology Support Plan have already exceeded the tasks of the projects and the other programs also concluded smoothly.
As a winner of the National OutstandingYouth Education Project, Professor Nie Jing, the backbone of the center, has successively presided over a number of national, provincial and city level projects. In 2018, she has won another key project of National Natural Science Foundation of China for her outstanding research capability.
Lili Zhou, Haiyan Fu, Xiaobing Yang, Wei Cao, Jun Wang, Jun Ai, Hanying Ding and other young researchers are all undertaking national research projects. Some of them also got projects, such as, Outstanding Medical Youth Project of Nanfang Hospital and Youth Medical Talent Training Program, which further provided sufficient motivation for their scientific research.
The researchers of the center took people's health undertaking and scientific research as a mission, formed mutual helping team and creative youth league. The youth got experience form the seniors and the seniors benefited from the youth vitality. They work together to cultivate outstanding academic atmosphere to assume more research tasks in this field, with cross-collaboration among different disciplines and different countries.
