Jing Nie  MD., PhD

Professor of medicine and MD tutor at Southern Medical University. Dr. Nie earned her PhD degree from Kochi University in Japan in 1999. After that, she went on to her 5-year postdoctoral research at University of Toronto in Canada. Since 2004, Dr.Nie has served as a member of the faculty of nephrology department successively at Sun Yat-Sen University and at Southern Medical University. Dr. Nie has obtained a number of research grants including the National Outstanding Young Scientist Fund from National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Dr. Nie’s research focus on the pathogenesis and prevention strategies of chronic kidney diseases and is conducted from three aspects including risk factors, renal intrinsic cell injury mechanisms, and drug lead compounds. She has published more than 50 papers on peer-reviewed journals including J Am Soc Nephrol and Kidney Int.
