Doctor Xie is affiliated with the Renal Division, Nanfang Hospital, Southern Medical University. She studied clinical medicine at the First Military Medical University and subsequently received her PhD degree from the Southern Medical University. 

Since 2004, Doctor Di Xie has held a position as a clinical nephrologist at the Southern Medical University. Her main research interests include optimizing RAS inhibitors treatments for patients with chronic kidney disease; screening and identifying novel risk factors and biomarkers for predicting the progression of chronic kidney disease; developing and evaluating new therapeutic approaches to halt the progression. To achieve these goals Dr. Xie is involved in various clinical trials and epidemiological studies and takes initiative to establish a large database of chronic kidney diseases.
