Dr. Jun Ai is a nephrologist who cares for adult patients with acute or chronic kidney disease. His research interests include Peritoneal Dialysis and ultra-filtration mechanisms, mechanisms in AKI: Numb in renal autophagy, and new therapeutic strategies for primary Membranous Nephropathy.
Ai earned his medical degree from the Department of Internal Medicine, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Beijing in 2006. He then worked in the Division of Nephrology, Nanfang hospital of Southern Medical University as a Resident, a Chief Resident, an attending physician from 2006 to 2014 respectively. And now he is an associate chief physician. He has received a one-year refresher doctor training in Department of Internal Medicine, Peking Union Medical College Hospital in 2007-2008.
Ai have accomplished the research work in the field of anti-fibrotic small molecules and the underlying mechanism, and he had published the work in JASN, and obtained two Chinese patent certificates and one United States patent in 2015. He had also obtained two grants of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
